Kobe's Story   — deedee mendoza, TX, USA

My son, Kobe, was born on April 19, 1999. He was beautiful and seemed to be healthy, but then the next day, when we were released, he started having seizures. When we got him to the hospital he was close to death and very, very ill. I had a negative result, but he was still very sick from GBS. He stayed in the hospital for 8 weeks and now has severe brain damage. He can't walk or talk, has a seizure disorder, and has a feeding tube. At least he is alive and loved so very much. I wouldn't trade him for the world.
