Hi, my name is Jennifer. I was 40 wks + 2 when I went into labour. I was in labour for 36 hours then had a c-section as our daughter got in to stress. When I came round I was told that she wasn't breathing by herself and they were running tests. I later found out that she had contracted group B strep. Sadly she passed away at three days old. I certainly think that people should be made more aware of group B strep to save others from the heartache that my family and I went through. If I was aware that I carried it, things could have been so different.
