Hayden's Story   — Crystal Polivick, KY, USA

My son Hayden was born at 36 weeks taken early for my health reasons. Immediately after birth he had trouble breathing. I was tested for GBS and tested positive, but was only able to receive one round of antibiotics due to fast labor. But without the test they wouldn't have known what could possibly have been wrong with him and acted so quickly. Hayden was sent an hour away to a level 3 NICU where he spent 5 days on a ventilator. The first few days were touch and go. He spent 2 weeks in Intensive care. He recovered from his ordeal. We were one of the lucky ones. He is now a happy vibrant 4 year old.
