Joshua's Story   — Karen & Craig McTaggart, BC, Canada

Our son Joshua was born on November 6, 1992 and was passed on to the angels November 7, 1992. We would have never guessed as he looked so perfect......a carbon copy of his brother. Within a few hours he began to decline with sepsis in the lungs and suffering 3 cardiac arrests. He was left without any brain activity, on life support, and had a very weak heartbeat. After 8 hours and 50 minutes of our son's life, we made the gruelling decision to take him off the machines. For thirteen years we have spoken and educated others about GBS, in the hopes that we will spare other parents from the agonizing loss of their child. It has helped our healing process over the years. Many years have passed since his death, but his presence is with us every day of our lives.
